(Tuesday, May 24, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Austin Green, a senior at Watertown High School (South Dakota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender hockey program.
“Austin is our final addition for the Class of 2022. We are extremely excited he has chosen Dordt as his home for the next four years. He will help strengthen our strong class for next season and will help us continue our already strong tradition in building things the Defender Way,” said Dordt hockey coach Tyler Morgan.
Green scored 13 goals and had 13 assists in 20 games played and has played center and wing. Green was on a team that claimed the Great River Winer Classic.
“Dordt has a very well put together hockey program. Everyone I talked to on my visit was very friendly,” said Green.
Austin is the son of Shannon Green and Keith Harms and Austin is a Watertown, South Dakota native. He plans to study health and human performance at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
