(Wednesday, May 11; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced its postseason honors for the recently completed 2022 baseball season and five Defender baseball players have earned all-GPAC honors.
Logan Cline (Senior; Cheyenne, Wyoming) and Gyeongju Kim (Junior; Seoul, South Korea) are both repeat first-team selections from the 2021 season while Dylan Brown (Freshman; Clarksville, Tennessee), Logan Horne (Senior; Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas) and Luke November (Capetown, South Africa) all claimed honorable mention status in the voting done by the conference coaches. Horne was also named to the Gold Glove Team for his defense at pitcher.
Cline finished his senior season with a .407 batting average, 61 hits, 19 doubles, nine homeruns, 46 runs scored, 17 stolen bases and 24 runs batted in. Cline leaves Dordt as the career leader in doubles, triples, stolen bases and total bases. His 18 career homeruns ranks 2nd all-time; his 93 runs batted in are 5th all-time; his 192 hits are 3rd all-time and his .390 career batting average is 3rd all-time. Cline was a 2021 first-team selection and 2019 honorable mention pick.
Kim posted a 5-5 record and had a 3.41 earned run average in 68 innings pitched and he struck out a Dordt single season record 109 batters. Kim became the first Dordt pitcher to strike out 200 batters in a career and has fanned 208 batters in two seasons. Kim was a 2021 first-team selection.
Brown was 1-1 in 12 appearances and pitched 17 innings and had 19 strikeouts with a 3.63 earned run average.
Horne had a 5.01 earned run average with a 2-8 record and pitched 55 innings and struck out 72. Horne was perfect defensively with 1 putout and 12 assists
November batted .357 with 41 hits and seven doubles and he threw out 15 baserunners stealing.
