(Friday, April 29, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Brant Vander Hart, a senior at Pella Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track programs.
"I am excited to welcome Brant to our distance program. He is an excellent fit for Dordt University and our program. I look forward toto working with him and watching him develop over the next four years," said Dordt cross country head coach and assistant track coach Nate Wolf.
Vander Hart has personal bests of 18:49 on a 5,000 meter cross country course; 5:24 in the 1600 and 11:29 in the 3200.
“I knew Dordt would be a school with my best interests at heart. I know it would be a place where I could grow my faith and pursue a fruitful career,” said Vander Hart.
Brant is the son of Randy and Jodi Vander Hart of New Sharon, Iowa. He plans to study computer science at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
