(Monday, November 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender women’s volleyball team has learned its pool assignment and schedule for the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Championship beginning November 30 at Sioux City, Iowa.
The Defenders have been assigned to Pool C along with Missouri Baptist and Central Methodist (Missouri) and the Defenders will play their two pool play matches on Tuesday, November 30.
Dordt faces Missouri Baptist at 8:30 AM and will follow that with a match at 3:00 PM against Central Methodist. Pool play will conclude on Wednesday with the top team from each of the eight pools advancing to quarterfinal round play on Thursday.
Missouri Baptist enters play with a 28-2 record and closed the American Midwest Conference with a perfect 9-0 mark. The Spartans are the defending NAIA national champions.
Central Methodist is 29-7 this season and finished league play in the Heart of America Conference with a 16-3 mark. The Eagles finished as the runner-up in the South Division of the 14-team league.
The Defenders are 18-9 this season and finished the GPAC season with a 9-7 record and claimed a tie for fifth place in the league race. All three teams earned wins on Saturday, November 20 in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Championship.
