Briar Cliff lost an 85-82 decision to William Penn in Oskaloosa on Saturday, November 20. Kleinhesselink had 23 points and six rebounds and Conner Groves added 22 with five caroms. Kleinhesselink was 6-7 from the three-point line.
Dordt won both of the games in the series last season with an 86-69 win on November 24 and Dordt held on for an 86-84 win in the Sioux City meeting on February 20.
Garrett Franken topped the Defenders in the first meeting with 21 points and Jesse Jansma had 19. Briar Cliff was led by Kleinheselink with 15.
In Sioux City to close the season Dordt had an 81-72 lead with 2:25 left and held off a rally by the hosts that got them within 85-84 before a Coppock free throw made the final 86-84. Jansma had 21 and Bleeker and Coppock both had 14. Groves scored 15 for Briar Cliff in a reserve role and Ethan Freidel had 13.
