Raszler and Timmermans Earn Academic Honors

(Friday, November 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) The 2021 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in academics.  Dordt has two athletes who have been named to the second-team.

Megan Raszler (Junior; Elkhorn, Nebraska) and Alli Timmermans (Graduate Studies; Orange City, Iowa) were both on the list released late on Thursday, November 18.

Raszler averages 6.33 assists per set with 1.69 digs and she has 20 service aces for a team that is playing in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round match on Saturday, November 20.  Raszler has earned all-GPAC honorable mention and second-team honors during her career. She’s an engineering major with a 3.96 grade point average.

Timmermans is averaging 2.5 kills per set with a .284 kill efficiency.  She was a second-team all-GPAC selection this season after earning first-team honors last season.  Timmermans has a 4.00 grade point average while studying curriculum & instruction.
