The Dordt Defenders will host Mount Marty at 1:00 on Saturday, October 9.
The Lancers are in their first football season and have an 0-5 record this season.
Mount Marty is averaging 12 points per game and allow 41 points per game. Mount Marty allows 309 yards passing per game and 161 on the ground for 470 total. The Lancers are getting 195 yards passing and 109 on the ground for 304 yards total.
Torren Devericks and Davian Guajardo split the quarterbacking with Devericks completing 56-101 passes for 623 yards and five touchdowns. Guajardo is 34-94 passing for 354 yards and one touchdown and both have throw two interceptions. Ku’ua Nishigaya has run for 292 yards on 84 attempts for a 3.5 yards per rush. Na’Kia Johnson has 145 yards rushing on 38 carries and a 3.8 average. Rex Ryken has 24 catches with an 11.5 yards per catch average and Jonah Miyazawa has 20 catches for 12.6 yards per catch and he has six touchdowns. Trevor Fitzgerald has 20 catches for 10.7 yards per catch.
Jonathan Cardoza-Chicas has punted 37 times for a 38.9 yards per punt average and he is 2-5 on field goals with a long of 39 and is 5-7 on point after tries.
Jaren Mortensen has 24 solo and 13 assisted tackles and Gaven Craig has 20 solos and 24 assisted with an interception. Albert Perez has 2.5 sacks this season and Cameron Middleton has three tackles for loss. Avry Rice, Dylan Capps and Braden Swan each have one interception.
Dordt is 3-1 this season and average 34.8 points per game and allow 12.3. Dordt runs for 288 yards and pass for 182 while allowing 80 and 153. All totaled Dordt outgains teams 470-233.
Kade McDaniel is 23-44 passing for 324 yards and Ethan Thomas is 15-28 for 211 yards. Levi Jungling has 21 catches for 16.3 yards per catch and two touchdowns. Elia Boldan has 12 catches with 15.8 yards per catch and a touchdown while Hayden Large has a 14.7 yards per catch average and six catches. Anthony Trojahn has run 58 times for 387 yards and a 6.7 yards per carry average with four touchdowns. Kade McDaniel has 39 rushes for 191 yards and a 4.9 average and two scores. Josh Bush, Carter Schiebout and Nick Wellen have 172, 160 and 129 yards respectively.
Blade Koons has punted 16 times for a 39.8 yards per punt average and Brett Zachman is 6-8 on field goals with a long of 41 while converting 15-16 point after tries.
Brayton Van Kekerix has 19 solo and eight assists and Drew Daum has 15 solo and four assisted tackles and has four sacks. Jalen Placide has 13 solo and six assisted tackles and Bryce Christian has 12 solo and four assisted tackles with two sacks. Colton Vander Berg and Abe Stoesz each have 2.5 sacks and Grant Hixson has two interceptions. Placide, Nathan Kabongo, Stoesz and Jones all have one interception.
Mount Marty lost to Northwestern on October 2 by a final of 56-17. The Lancers led briefly with a 39 yard field goal at the 4:04 mark of the first quarter. Northwestern then scored four straight touchdowns and took a 28-10 halftime lead. Northwestern then outscored the Lancers 28-7 in the second half. Northwestern outgained the Lancers 505-224 and Mount Marty had 182 yards passing and 42 rushing. Devericks was 13-24 for 149 yards and Guajardo was 5-13 passing for 33 yards. Miazawa caught seven passes for 121 yards and Na’Kia Johnson had three catches for 24 yards and Nishigaua had 12 rushes for 39 yards.
Dordt beat Doane on Saturday, September 25 by a 27-7 count. The Defenders allowed a blocked punt return for a touchdown and then shut out the Tigers the rest of the game. The Defenders led 17-7 at halftime and added a touchdown and field goal in the fourth quarter for a 27-7 final. Dordt outgained Doane 379-217 with Anthony Trojahn gaining 98 yards on 17 carries and Schiebout and Thomas each had 39 and 33 yards rushing. McDaniel passed for 151 yards with Jungling catching three passes for 68 yards and Large had three catches for 37 yards. Van Kekerix had four solo and two assisted tackles and six different Defenders had sacks.
Dordt will host Dakota Wesleyan next Saturday while Concordia is at Mount Marty on October 16.
