(Thursday, September 10; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for September 5-6.  Dordt’s Davis Tebben (Junior; Lansing, Michigan) earns the award this week.

Tebben ran a 25:40 at the Dordt Sunflower Opener on Saturday, September 5 and finished sixth overall on the 8,000 meter course. Tebben was the first NAIA runner to finish and helped the Defenders to a team title with 16 points.

“This is great recognition for Davis, who had a great race this past week leading our men’s team in their opening race of the season.  He has good confidence coming off of a strong summer of training and that showed throughout a stellar first race of the year,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.

The Defenders have a week off and resume competition on Saturday, September 19 at the Morningside Invite in McCook Lake, South Dakota.
