(Monday, March 2; Sioux Center, Iowa) Paige Decker, a senior at Lynden Christian High School (Washington), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and field program.
"Paige is very talented and we are excited she chose Dordt to further her education," said Dordt track and field coach Craig Heynen. "She will be an excellent jumper and we look forward to seeing how she can develop as an athlete."
Decker specializes in the jumps and has a personal best of 5-0 in the high jump and 35-10 in the triple jump. She has placed eighth at the 2019 Washington High School State Championships and earned third place in the high jump.
"I found Dordt to be a great place to not only continue my education but also grow in my faith. I am very excited to be able to participate in Dordt's high level track and music programs," said Decker.
Paige is the daughter of Mike and Julie Decker of Lynden, Washington. She plans to study Education at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian university rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
