Dordt University is one of three finalists for a Salesforce.org Summit Award. The “Excellence in Innovation” award recognizes a college or university that is using Salesforce, a computing service specializing in customer relationship management (CRM), to fuel innovation in recruiting, student success, advancement, marketing, community, and engagement.

“We started our journey with Salesforce just over three years ago, and this nomination is a true testament of the collaborative effort between Dordt’s admissions, marketing, and computer services teams,” says Greg Van Dyke, director of admissions. “Salesforce has given us a platform to ask hard questions and innovate on a daily basis.”

Dordt has had impressive results within the last 18 months thanks in part to Salesforce and Pardot, including a 29 percent increase in campus visits and a 10 percent increase in freshmen enrollment.

“Many Salesforce-savvy schools have been nominated for the Summit’s various awards, and it’s humbling to see Dordt listed among them only a short time after adopting these products,” says Jordan Harmelink, digital content strategist at Dordt. “There are days when I feel like I’ve barely started to understand the full range of capabilities these products have, and it’s really exciting to imagine the possibilities of what’s next.”

Dordt University, Arizona State University, and Hult International Business School are the three finalists for the award. The winner of the award will be chosen by Salesforce.org leadership and will be announced at the Higher Ed Summit, Salesforce’s higher education technology conference, in Indianapolis in late April.

This is one of several instances this year where Dordt has been recognized for being an innovative institution. In the U.S. News and World Report 2020 college rankings, Dordt tied for second most innovative college in the Midwest. Also, Dordt recently announced the K and K Dooyema Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a donor-funded center that will prepare students and alumni for challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship and innovation in a variety of business organizations.

As an institution of higher education committed to the Reformed Christian perspective, Dordt University equips students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community to work toward Christ-centered renewal in all aspects of contemporary life. For four years in a row, Dordt has been named number one in the nation for student engagement by The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education. Located in Sioux Center, Iowa, Dordt is a comprehensive university named to the best college lists by U.S. News and World Report, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review.
