The Defender men’s basketball team will be hosting a four game classic this Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30.
All of the games will be available online at https://livestream.com/dordtwebcast/Basketball and the games involving Dordt will be on KDCR 88.5 FM.

Northwestern is 6-2 this season and 2-1 in the GPAC with losses to Mayville State and Dordt.
Northwestern is outscoring teams 93.3-72.9 and has outrebounded teams 38.8-33.5. The Raiders are averaging 49.9 percent of its field goals and 37.9 percent of its three-point shots. Northwestern allows teams to make 42.8 percent of its field goals. Trent Hilbrands leads the team with 18.6 points per game and Craig Sterk has a 13.7 points per game average with a team high 6.6 rebounds per outing Jay Small adds 12.5 points per game with 4.3 rebounds and Isaac Heyer contributes 9.5 points per game on 52.8 percent field goal shooting. Grant DeMeulenaere tops the team with 25 assists this season.
Peru State is 3-2 this season and 2-1 in the Heart of America Conference. The Bobcats have losses to William Woods and Missouri Valley by three points each.
Devon Colley scores 16.2 points per game with six rebounds and he is making 56 percent of his field goals. Kendrick Robinson scores 14.6 points per game with 7.4 rebounds and Henry Tanksley is at 13.8 points per game and Nate Townsen is at 13.0 points per game. Colley leads the team with 21 assists and Deonte McReynolds has a team high 11 made three-point baskets this season. Peru State is outscoring teams 78.6-73.4 and outrebounding teams 40.4-35.2. The Bobcats make 46.8 percent of its three-point shots.
Dickinson State is 1-6 this season and is 0-3 against GPAC teams with losses to Concordia, Hastings and Jamestown to start the season. Dickinson State has a win over Yellowstone Christian and hasn’t played a game in North Star Athletic Association play yet this season.
Donte Walker is the Blue Hawks’ leading scorer with a 13.3 points per game average and he has made a team high 15 three-point baskets this season. Kenny Jackson is averaging 12.3 points per game with 4.5 rebounds and Montel Carlow is good for 10.5 points per game. Shawn Stoltz tops the team with 5.2 rebounds per game. Dickinson State is getting outscored 90.3-73 and it getting outrebounded 41.5-28.8.
The Defenders are 6-3 this season and 2-2 in league play after earning a pair of home wins last week over Northwestern and Briar Cliff. The Defenders’ losses in GPAC play are to Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside.
Garrett Franken scores 16.3 points per game and is averaging 8.1 rebounds for the Defenders. He is converting 47 percent of his field goals. Jesse Jansma scores 13.1 points per game while Cade Bleeker adds 9.6 and Zach Bussard is good for 9.0 points per game. Marcus Winterfeld adds 8.7 points per game and Chad Barkema’s average is 7.8 while Josh Van Lingen is at 6.9. Barkema is also taking in 5.7 rebounds per game.
Dordt outscores teams 85.2-75.4 and outrebound teams 42.2-35.3. Dordt is making 46 percent of its field goals and allow 44.3 success from the floor.
Dickinson State’s most recent outing was on November 23 when the BlueHawks lost to Montana State-Northern 103-68. Dickinson State was down 48-32 at halftime and was led by Kenny Jackson’s 12 points and four rebounds. Dickinson State converted 23-61 field goals but got outrebounded 36-23 and allowed Northern to convert 65.6 percent of its field goals and 13-18 three-point shots.
Northwestern beat Jamestown 103-94 on Saturday. Jamestown got to within two in the second half after Northwestern led by 10 at halftime but the Raiders held off the Jimmies’ comeback effort. Jay Small was 10-12 from the field for 30 points and Grant Rohrer added 21 points on 9-10 shooting. Isaac Heyer contributed 17 and Hilbrands had 14. Northwestern converted 55.6 percent of its field goals and 10-22 three-point shots.
Peru State led by as many as 16 points before settling for an 88-81 win over Evangel on Saturday in Springfield, Missouri. Devon Colley scored 24 with five rebounds and Henry Tanksley and Nate Townsen each scored 16. Kendrick Robinson was good for 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
Dordt beat Briar Cliff 82-63 on Saturday afternoon behind a 43-25 second half outburst. Chad Barkema scored a season-high 19 points and had six rebounds to lead the Defenders and Franken scored 18 and had six rebounds as well. Winterfeld came off the bench to score 10 as Dordt limited the Chargers to 38.6 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent from the three-point line.
The Defender men will be on the road to Jamestown on Wednesday, December 4 and will be home on Saturday, December 7 to face Midland.
