(Wednesday, November 27; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team is no. 23 in the most recent NAIA Division II Coaches’ Poll released on Wednesday, November 27.
The Defenders moved up two spots in the poll which is the first in-season rating. Dordt is 6-3 this season with and has won back to back games in league play. Two of Dordt’s losses are to no. 2 Morningside and no. 6 Dakota Wesleyan.
Dordt took 91 points in the voting and is six points behind Bethel (Kansas) and 16 in front of Corban (Oregon).
The Defenders will host Dickinson State (North Dakota) on Friday, November 29 and Peru State (Nebraska) on Saturday, November 30. Dordt returns to conference play on Wednesday, December 4 on the road against Jamestown.
The Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
The next poll will be released on December 11.
