(Thursday, October 31; Sioux Center, Iowa) The most recent NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll has been released and the Dordt Defenders are 23rd in this week’s voting.
Dordt totaled 176 points in the balloting after winning the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede in dominating fashion on Saturday, October 26. The Defenders are two spots lower in the poll than two weeks ago when they totaled 198 points.
The Defenders are one of two GPAC teams in the top-25 with Concordia falling one spot to no. 20 after winning the Mount Marty Invite.
Shawnee State is in front of the Defenders with 204 points and Oklahoma City is 24th with 128. SCAD Atlanta holds the top spot in the poll for the second week in a row with 19 first place votes.
The poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
The GPAC Championships will be held on Saturday, November 9 in Sioux Center, Iowa. The top-two finishing teams will earn automatic berths to the NAIA National Championship in Vancouver, Washington on Friday, November 22.
