(Wednesday, October 8; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference ad Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced its volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 30-October 6.  Megan Raszler (Freshman; Elkhorn, Nebraska) was accorded setter-of-the-week honors for her play in a couple of Defender wins.

Raszler put up just under 11 assists per set in the Defenders wins over Briar Cliff and Grand View.  The 5-8 setter had an ace serve and also averaged 1.44 digs per set.  Raszler is averaging 7.7 assists per set this season and 1.57 digs.

“Megan had a great week leading our offense and competing in the 5-1 setting role. She is getting better connected with her hitters too. This honor is well deserved,” said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.

Dordt is currently 13-6 this season and is 4-3 in conference play. The Defenders will host Mount Marty on Wednesday night, October 9 before hosting Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday, October 12.
