Dordt University Instructor of Music Ryan Smit, and accompanist, Pamela De Haan, will perform on Friday, September 13, at 7:30 p.m., in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

Both Dordt music faculty members, Ryan Smit (tenor) and Pamela De Haan (pianist), will collaborate to present Franz Schubert’s monumental song cycle, Die Schöne Müllerin (“The Maid of the Mill”), a crowning achievement of a Romantic composer known for his mastery of the German art song, or lieder. The work features 20 songs that, together, tell the story of a wandering journeyman who finds work at a forest mill and falls in love with the miller’s daughter.

Admission is free and open to the public.
