On Wednesday, May 8, senior Christina Chahyadinata will open her senior art exhibition, titled “Three Borrowed Breaths and A Call For Courage.”

The exhibition includes a collective suite of graphic design, illustration, and photography. Chayadinata produced the artwork during her four years at Dordt as a student, as a freelance artist, and as a graphic design intern at the Field Museum in Chicago.

“Stories fascinate me more than ever,” Chahyadinata says. “I am a visual storyteller and story listener. Whether through letter illustrations or photography, I am both. As an artist, I am challenged to travel hundreds of miles and take thousands of photos. I see creativity as a doorway into the heart of humanity, and that no matter what I do, I’m longing for the bravery and intentionality that creativity demands.”

Chahyadinata will host a reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with an artist talk at 6:45 p.m. in the Art Gallery in the Campus Center.
