Dordt will travel to Forest City, Iowa on Tuesday, April 23 for a non-conference softball doubleheader. The games are scheduled to begin at 4:00.
Waldorf is 12-24 this season and 9-13 in the North Star Athletic Association. The Warriors have lost seven games in a row dating back to a 5-2 win over Mayville State on April 14. Dordt will be the only GPAC play Waldorf is playing this season.
Ursula Delcampo is batting .400 this season with seven homeruns and 37 runs batted in and she has 40 hits. Blaney Markman is batting .395 with six doubles and Peyton Arenson is batting .383 with 11 doubles and two homeruns and 30 runs batted in. Taylor Navratil has 43 hits and a .358 batting average.
Jessica Whittaker is 5-9 this season with 67 innings pitched and Karlee Leyvas has 40 strikeouts in 90 innings pitched and she is 5-12.
The Defenders are 13-18 this season and 7-9 in the GPAC.
Rachel Evavold is batting .403 with 31 hits and 10 doubles and two homeruns with a .610 slugging percentage. Hailey Heeringa has 25 hits and is batting .263 with six doubles and Marissa Vanden Berg has 28 hits with two homeruns and Carley De Roin and Jessica Oules have 19 and 18 hits respectively.
Tianna Soodsma is 6-6 with a 2.58 earned run average and she has pitched 95 innings with 56 strikeouts. Rachel Evavold is 4-5 with 37 strikeouts and 54 innings pitched.

Rachel Evavold (117) and Marissa Vanden Berg (131) are moving up the all-time hits list and various other offensive categories. Evavold will move to 19th all-time when she gets to 120 and Vanden Berg is currently 16th on the list.
Tianna Soodsma earned her 43rd win earlier this season and i 3rd all-time to Ruth Draayer (1985-88) in 2nd with 47 and Dawn Van Kley (2000-03) is on top of the list with 60. Soodsma has thrown 530 innings (2nd all-time to Dawn Van Kley’s 597), has 280 strikeouts (3rd all-time to Amber Soodsma 331 and Van Kley 499) and has a nearly 7:1 strikeouts to walk ratio (1st all-time).
Waldorf beat Dordt on April 24, 2018 in Sioux Center by an 11-5 score. Payge Jurgens had four runs batted in with a couple homeruns for the Warriors while Dordt was outhit 10-8. Kaylie Brindley earned the win with two strikeouts and eight hits allowed
The Defenders will be back at home on April 24 and 26 against Briar Cliff and Jamestown.
