(Tuesday, March 26; Sioux Center, Iowa) Collin Reitsma, a senior at Sioux Falls Christian High School (South Dakota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
Reitsma averaged five points, three rebounds and two assists this season as Sioux Falls Christian finished as the state runner-up in Class A. He claimed academic all-state honors and is listed 6-3 and played guard and forward for the Chargers.
"We are excited to have Collin join our program. He has worked hard at this game, and we look forward to his development as a player. He is a great student and will be successful in life," said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften.
Collin is the son of Ryan and Jen Reitsma of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He plans to study Engineering at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
