(Thursday, March 28; Sioux Center, Iowa) Damon Dekkers, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender baseball program.
Dekkers has played first base and designated hitter for the Knights and had a .333 batting average last season with six doubles and 16 runs batted in while earning second-team all-conference honors from the War Eagle Conference. He was an honorable mention pick after his sophomore season when he batted .299.
Damon is the son of Dean and Tara Dekkers of Ireton, Iowa. He plans to study Ag Business at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
