Westra Added To Soccer

(Friday, March 15; Sioux Center, Iowa) Josh Westra, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the soccer program.

Westra earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a junior in 2018 and has two goals scored with three assists during his career at Unity. Westra also earned second-team all-district honors in football along with all-district academic honors in that sport. He's played midfield and defender for Unity in soccer.

"We are thrilled to have Josh at Dordt. He will be a great fit for the team and the campus. It has been a pleasure getting to know him and his family through the recruitment process. We are thankful to continue the connection with Unity," said Dordt coach Ryan Gresse.

Josh is the son of Steve and Kari Westra of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to study Business Administration at Dordt.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).  
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
