(Monday, March 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Alyssa Elton, a senior at Washington High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
Elton has played middle and right side and is listed 6-1. She has competed with the Kairos Elite Volleyball Club and established a single season ace serves record at Washington.
“Alyssa has been a thorough study of Dordt College through the recruiting process as she attended camps and visited on several occasions. With each encounter, she and we continually discovered a wonderful fit as Alyssa wants a school where she can live out the Defender Way. She will provide depth for us at the middle position, having played high level competition through high school and club. We are grateful for the investment of high school coach Kelly Schroeder and club coach Mitch Lunning into her development. Alyssa will be a joy to have on our campus and in our program," said Dordt College volleyball coach Chad Hanson.
Alyssa is the daughter of Jody and Jeffrey Elton of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She plans to enter the Nursing program at Dordt.
