Defenders Host Men's Volleyball Match

Dordt will host Viterbo on Wednesday, March 20 at 6:00.  The match will be available on and results will be posted at and and also at after the match is complete.  


The Viterbo V-Hawks are  3-15 overall and play in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Viterbo has a 9.0 kills per set average and a team kill efficiency of .087. Viterbo also averages just under a point per set on blocks and allow 1.52.  Teams have 99 service aces against the Lacrosse, Wisconsin based school while the V-Hawks have 47 ace serves.

Jacob Nonn has a 3.54 kills per set average with 12 service aces and 1.63 digs.  Chris Kahler has a 3.3 kills per set average and Andrew Lepage leads the team with 7.49 assists per outing.  Kahler tops the team with 13 service aces and Andy Roungtakoun leads the team with 2.37 digs.


The Defenders are 4-12 this season and stand 1-8 in the American Midwest/Great Plains/Kansas league.
Ben Tiemersma is averaging 3.91 kills per set with a .239 kill efficiency and he has five solo and 18 assisted blocks. Garrett Vander Zee has a 2.98 kills per set average and he gets to 1.61 digs  per set. Shavon Barker’s kill average is 1.06 and he has 32 assisted blocks and seven solo blocks. Tyler Postma averages 7.70 assists per set and has seven solo and 25 assisted blocks and he averages 1.62 digs per outing. Austen Scammon leads the team with 3.17 digs per set.

Dordt averaged 10.06 kills per set and allow 12.98.  Dordt gets 1.81 points per set on blocks and allow 1.59. Teams have 76 ace serves against the Defenders and Dordt has 47 aces this season.


Dordt will host Ottawa on Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 and will host Park on Saturday, March 23.


Dordt is facing Viterbo for the third time this season. On February 9 the Defenders swept Viterbo 25-11, 25-14, 25-21. Ben Tiemersma had 10 kills and Garrett Vander Zee had six. Tyler Postma recorded 19 assists and had a solo block and six digs. Nonn put down eight kills for Viterbo and Kahler had seven. Lepage put up 18 assists and had 12 digs. On Saturday, March 16 the Defenders traveled to Lacrosse, Wisconsin again and this time it was the V-Hawks coming out on top 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 15-11. Nonn had 31 kills for Viterbo and Kahler had 16 while Lepage recorded 53 assists for the winners. Tiemersma and Vander Zee had 25 and 20 kills respectively and Austin Clark had 39 assists and Vander Zee had 13 digs while Tiemersma had 12.
