(Thursday, March 7; Sioux Center, Iowa) Ryanne Ferro, a senior at Faith Christian Academy (Colorado), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.
Ferro ends her career with 719 career kills and 774 career digs. She earned first-team all-state and all-conference honors in 2018 and was a first-team all-conference selection in 2016 as well. Ferro was a part of league championship teams in 2016 and 2018 and finished third at the 2017 state tournament and seventh in the 2018.
“Ryanne is a powerful athlete with explosiveness in her jump and armswing. She has a natural ability to play all 6 rotations as an outside hitter and can attack to many different areas of the court. We are grateful for the development of her skills by high school coach Chris Powers and club coaches Ashley Useche and Ellie Monarch. Ryanne is a joy to be around and will enhance our campus community as she seeks to serve the Lord and others in every area of her life," said Dordt volleyball coach Chad Hanson.
Ryanne is the daughter of Thomas and Linnea Ferro of Brighton, Colorado. She plans to study Education at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
