Two Matches This Weekend For Volleyball

Dordt will travel to face Missouri Baptist and Lindenwood-Belleville on Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9.  Both matches are played at Missouri Baptist with the Friday night match at 7:00 and the Saturday match at 3:00. Results will be posted to and and also at .  


Missouri Baptist is a perfect 18-0 this season and stands 6-0 in American Midwest/Great Plains/Kansas play.  Missouri Baptist has been pushed to five sets once in a match against St. Ambrose.

The Spartans average 12.7 kills per set and allow 7.8 per contest.  Missouri Baptist also has a .321 kill efficiency with 155 service aces and 51 allowed.  Luka Cajic is good for 3.23 kills per set with a .314 kill efficiency and Steven Rodriguez is at 2.95 kills per outing with a .297 kill efficiency. Jason Harman is good for 10.7  assists.  Skyler Capllonch tops the team with 3.51 digs per set.

Lindenwood Belleville is 3-12 this season and 1-7 in the league.  Lindenwood Belleville as lost five matches in a row dating back to a February 16 win over Graceland. 

The Linx average 10.3 kills per set with an 11.9 kills allowed average. Teams have recorded 107 service aces against Lindenwood-Belleville in 51 sets and has 8.96 digs per set with 1.96 points per set on blocks.

Justin Talley averages 2.54 kills per set and Carl Cousin is good for 2.12. Jeffrey Carmody puts up 5.68 assists and Sebastian Karmy is good for 5.14.  Carmody has a team high 16 service aces and Kyle Monton leads the team with 2.81 digs per set.


The Defenders are 3-8 this season and stand 1-6 in the league.

Ben Tiemersma is averaging 3.86 kills per set with a .241 kill efficiency and he has five solo and 11 assisted blocks. Garrett Vander Zee has a 2.47 kills per set average and he gets to 1.44 digs  per set. Shavon Barker’s kill average is 1.19 and he has 22 assisted blocks. Tyler Postma averages 7.92 assists per set and has seven solo and 25 assisted blocks and he averages 1.63 digs per outing. Austen Scammon leads the team with 3.06 digs per set.

Dordt averaged 9.81 kills per set and allow 12.86.  Dordt gets 1.83 points per set on blocks and allow 1.75. Teams have 51 ace serves against the Defenders and Dordt has 25 aces this season.


Dordt will travel to face Culver-Stockton on Monday, March 11.  Dordt then travels to face Judson and Viterbo on March 16 at Lacrosse, Wisconsin in a tri-angular.  Dordt returns home to face Viterbo on March 20.


Dordt lost to Missouri Baptist February 7 by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-14.  Ben Tiemersma had seven kills while Tristan Sanchez, Shavon Barker and Garret Vander Zee all had four kills.  Tyler Postma put up 17 assists and Levi Ewald had seven digs. The Spartans got nine kills from Steven Rodriguez and eight from Luka Cajic while Jason Harman put up 32 assists. Harman had nine digs in the win.

Dordt beat Lindenwood-Belleville on February 8 by set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 11-25, 18-25, 15-11.  Tiemersma had 24 kills and Postma recorded 39 assists. Scammon got to 19 digs and Vander Zee had 11 kills with seven digs. Tamayo and McCoy each had ten kills and Karmy and Carmody recorded 20 and 18 assists each for Lindenwood-Belleville.
