(Friday, March 1; Sioux Center, Iowa) McKenna Vroom, a senior at Palmer Ridge High School (Colorado), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.

Vroom helped Palmer Ridge to a Class 4A state title in 2017 with a 24-3 record.  She's listed 5-10 and has played rightside and setter.

"McKenna is a competitor and hard worker as she will bring wonderful depth to our setting position.  Her willingness to be coached and commitment to prepare for her future are important factors that will make an immediate impact in our program.  Through her club volleyball experience with Rocky Select under coach Jackie Miller, McKenna has played high level competition and run an offense that will blend well with our own.  She seeks to serve others and loves the Lord.  We are grateful she has chosen Dordt for her college years," said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.

McKenna is the daughter of Jim and Anna Vroom of Monument, Colorado.  She plans to study Business and Marketing at Dordt.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
