(Thursday, February 28; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Jenna Bruns, a senior at Lennox High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.

Bruns had 462 digs as a senior for Lennox with a 5.37 digs per set average and she had 38 ace serves.  She's a three-time academic all-state honoree and leaves Lennox as the all-time dig leader.   Bruns is listed as a 5-3 defensive specialist.

"We are so pleased that Jenna has chosen Dordt for her college years.  She will bring a wonderful support role to our ball control position and continue to strengthen our team culture of loving the Lord and serving others.  We are grateful for the work that high school coach Patrick Purdy has invested in Jenna’s development as their libero," said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.

Jenna is the daughter of Amy and Gary Bruns of Lennox, South Dakota.  She plans to study Biology at Dordt.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
