(Wednesday, February 20; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt women’s basketball team is no. 13 in this week’s NAIA Division II Coaches’ Top-25 poll after completing the regular season with a 20-10 record.
The Defenders finished the season tied for fourth in the GPAC standings and will be the no. 4 seed when the GPAC Quarterfinals begin play on Wednesday, February 20.
The Defenders totaled 185 points in the poll conducted on an every other week basis during the regular season by a panel of coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
Dordt is one of six GPAC schools in the top-25 in the poll with Concordia taking all 12 first place votes. Northwestern (3) and Dakota Wesleyan (4) along with Hastings (15) and Morningside (19) make up the GPAC contingent.
The winners of the GPAC Quarterfinals will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, February 23 with the GPAC Championship scheduled for Tuesday, February 26.
There will be a final poll released on Tuesday, February 26 in advance of the NAIA Division II National Championship field released on Wednesday, February 27.
