Beckman To Join Defender Basketball

(Friday, January 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Bailey Beckman, a senior at Panorama High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball and track and field programs.

Beckman is averaging 19.4 points per game for Panorama and is converting 44 percent of her field goal attempts and has made 32 three-point shots this season.  She is also averaging four rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.5 steals per game.  She has 1,362 career points with 124 three-point baskets.  Beckman was a second-team all-state selection last season and has twice earned first-team all-district honors and first-team all-conference accolades.

“Bailey will be a great addition to our Defender Women’s Basketball team.  She is a great athlete and shooter.  Bailey recently claimed the career scoring record at Panorama High School and we can’t wait to see what she will bring to the college game.  We a thrilled to have a Panorama standout playing for us next year," said Dordt coach Bill Harmsen.

Beckman has a personal best of 17-3.5 in the long jump.

Bailey is the daughter of Jeff and Diane Beckman of Panora, Iowa.  She plans to study Exercise Science and Biology at Dordt.
