Pietersen Commits To Defenders

(Wednesday, January 23; Sioux Center, Iowa) Brandon Pietersen, a senior at Anoka High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

Pietersen is a 6-4, 210 pound forward and has been a part of the Anoka program throughout his high school career.

"Brandon is someone that knows how to score the basketball.  He is a big, tough guy, and we are looking forward to having him with us for the years to come," said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften.

Brandon is the son of Mike and Brooke Pietersen of Anoka, Minnesota. He plans to study Engineering at Dordt.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
