Hockey Hosts Missouri State

Dordt will face Missouri State this weekend with a Friday, January 25 at 8:00 and the Saturday game gets underway at 1:00. Both games are at the Vernon Arena in Sioux Center and will be available online from links at . The Friday game will be online at and Saturday’s will be at .

The Foe…

Missouri State is 8-10 this season and has outscored teams 77-63.

Ted Cardinale tops the team with nine goals and 14 assists and Christian Cuozzo has eight goals and Brandon Baldwin has put seven in the net with nine assists. Christian Catalano also has seven goals and Sean Sullivan has six goals along with Christopher Reda.

Richard Albrecht and Graham Nave each have four wins in goal with Albrecht allowing 15 goals in 360 minutes and Nave has 35 goals allowed in 615 minutes.

The Blades…

The Blades are 0-9-1 this season after returning to play last weekend with a road swing to Illinois, Michigan and Indiana.  The Blades managed a 5-5 tie in the last game of the weekend at Notre Dame.

The Blades are led by Mark Schouten’s seven goals this season and he has two assists. Caleb Groot has four goals scored while Eli Visscher, Rylan Brue, Jaren Brue, Seth Vandergugten, Sam De Jong and Keaton De Jong all have three goals. Seth Vandergugten tops the team with six assists.

Sam Kingma, David Burns and Bryce Andry have split the goal keeping. Kingma has allowed 23 goals in 208 minutes with 136 saves. Burns has 37 goals allowed in 311 minutes with 262 saves and Andry has played 209 minutes with 138 saves and 25 goals allowed.

Last Time…

The Blades lost to Hope on Friday, January 18 and tied Notre Dame on Saturday, January 19.  The Blades scored all five of their goals against Notre Dame in the second period with Seth Vandergugten getting two while Keaton De Jong, Sam De Jong and Mark Schouten all had one goal each.  David Burns was in goal for the tie and had 68 saves.

The Blades have a home and away weekend with Nebraska  on the road Friday night and at home on Saturday, February 2 in a 1:00 start.
