(Thursday, December 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women’s basketball team is no. 13 in the most recent NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released earlier this week.
The Defenders have a 10-4 record this season and moved up two spots after appearing in the rankings for the first time this season at no. 15 in the previous poll released in late November.
Dordt totaled 201 points in the balloting and was four points out of 12th and 20 points from cracking the top-10. The Defenders are 22 points clear of no. 14 Eastern Oregon in the second in-season poll.
Dordt is one of seven GPAC teams in the poll with six teams occupying spots in the top-15. Three of Dordt’s losses this year have come to no. 1 Dakota Wesleyan; no. 5 Northwestern and no. 8 Morningside.
Dordt concludes pre-Christmas basketball with a game on the road Saturday, December 15 against no. 24 Midland.
