(Tuesday; December 4; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the players of the week for contests played November 26-December 2.  Erika Feenstra (Sophomore; Sioux Center, Iowa) was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Player of the Week.

Feenstra averaged 37.5 points per game in a pair of contests against Northwestern and Jamestown, a pair of nationally ranked opponents.  Dordt finished the week 1-1 as Feenstra scored a school record 43 points against Northwestern and then followed that with 32 points against Jamestown.  She converted 76 percent of her field goals and took 37 shots from the field for the week.  Feenstra also averaged seven rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot in the two games.

“Erika had a fantastic two game stretch as her strong play continues.  She finished well through contact against a physical Northwestern team to score 43 points and followed that with a very steady 32 point performance against Jamestown.  Her teammates are finding her in good spots to finish and Erika has done a great job of finishing and getting to the free throw line.  We will continue to work to improve as we push to Christmas break,” said Dordt College coach Bill Harmsen.

The Defenders continue GPAC play Wednesday night with road test against Briar Cliff before returning home to face Hastings on Saturday, December 8.
