(Monday, December 3; Sioux Center, Iowa) The NAIA released the 2018 Daktronics NAIA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes for the recently completed season. Six Dordt Defenders are on the list that includes 532 total-student athletes.
Colton Schreur (Senior; Hudsonville, Michigan), Jack McCool (Senior; Englewood, Colorado), Kenton Cleveringa (Senior; Ephrata, Washington), Francisco Benitez (Senior; Paraguay), Mika de Vin (Junior; Vernon, British Columbia) and Seth Lewison (Junior; West Salem, Wisconsin) were the Defenders selected.
Schreur, McCool, Cleveringa and Benetiz all earn the honor for the second time in their careers while de Vin and Lewison are both first time honorees in their first years of eligibility.
Schreur and Benitez are both studying Engineering while Cleveringa will graduate with a degree in Agriculture. McCool is a Business Administration major.
Lewison and de Vin are both studying Education and will return in 2019 for the Defenders.
In order to be nomintated by an instution’s head coach or sports information director ad student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.
