On the Docket…

Dordt will face Creighton on Friday and Saturday, November 30 and December 1. The Friday contest is scheduled to be played in Omaha while the Saturday contest will be a 1:00 start in Sioux Center at the All Season Center.  The Saturday contest will be available at

The Foe…

Creighton is 3-5 this season and has been outscored 37-24 this season.  The Jays’ last win was a 5-2 victory over Wisconsin Platteville on October 26.  Creighton’s most recent action was a November 9 and 10 pair against Kansas which Kansas prevailed in 4-1 and 4-3.

Matthew Kocourek has three goals and five assists and shares team goal leader honors with Isaac Lamppa and Nicholas Shaffer. Travis Work is good for seven assists.

Ben Roberts and Matt Knuth are 2-1 and 1-2 in goal with 222 and 176 minutes played respectively. Roberts has a 2.7 goals allowed average with 118 saves and Knuth has a 6.14 goals allowed average with 112 saves.

The Blades…

The Blades are are 0-6-2-0 this season and lost a pair in Colorado on November 1 and 2.  Dordt has lost a pair of overtime contests and have a third one-goal loss to Wisconsin-Platteville this season.

The Blades are led by Mark Schouten’s six goals this season and he has two assists. Eli Visscher, Rylan Brue and Caleb Groot all have three goals scored. Seth Vandergugten tops the team with five assists and Pieter Gesink has four assists.

Sam Kingma, David Burns and Bryce Andry have split the goal keeping. Kingma has   allowed 15 goals in 188 minutes with 113 saves. Burns has  19 goals allowed in 146 minutes with 120 saves and Andry has played 149 minutes with 113 saves and 20 goals allowed.

What’s Next…

The Blades are off until January 17-19 when they play three on a road swing into Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.  The next local contest for the Blades will be on January 25 and 26 when they host Missouri State.
