Dordt will host Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday night, September 22 in GPAC volleyball. The junior varsity match starts at 6:00 with the varsity scheduled to begin at 7:30.
On Saturday, October 2, the sounding light chamber choir will perform at Dordt University at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.
A professional chamber choir from the Omaha, Nebraska area, sounding light gathers singers from seven states. Directed by Tom Trenney, the group shares an eclectic and diverse program that speaks of resilience and hope.
Dordt University alumnus Damon Groen (’21) released a new EP titled “Unfinished” in collaboration with Dordt Worship Arts, and it is now streaming on all major digital distributors including Spotify.
The EP contains four songs written by Groen, with Worship Arts Technical Director Alex Priore and alumnus Rainanda Badudu (’19) contributing. The project features many musical offerings from Dordt students, staff, and faculty who provided harmonies, choral arrangements, and unique instrumental expressions including harp, cello, and saxophone.
Game Time... The Dordt University men's soccer team returns to conference play with a mid-week match against Concordia in Seward, Neb. Game time on Wednesday, Sept. 22 is scheduled for 7:45pm.
Dordt earned its first win of the season, a 2-1 home victory over Bethany Lutheran, on Saturday and is 0-1 in the GPAC, 1-5-2 overall. Concordia is 1-0 in conference play, 3-3-1 overall.

Dordt has dropped two consecutive matches since winning four straight earlier this season. They are 0-2 in conference action, 5-3 overall. Concordia is 1-0 in the GPAC, 4-2 overall.
(Tuesday, September 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) The weekly NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Coaches’ Top 25 Poll has been released and the 2-1 Dordt Defenders are no. 22 in this week’s poll. Initially the Defenders were in a tie for 20th, but, a mathematical error was discovered, adjusting the Defenders to the no. 22 spot.
(Tuesday, September 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) With the start of the 2021-22 school year the Dordt University Defender Gold Club membership year is also underway.
After a record setting 2020-21 year in which the Defender Golf Club had over 600 members, the goal is 1,000 members.

The Northwest Iowa National Invitational will take place on Monday and Tuesday, September 20 and 21 at Le Mars Willow Creek Golf Course. The two-day, 54-hole event will include Texas Wesleyan, Ottawa (Arizona), Southwestern Christian, Bellevue, Kansas Wesleyan, Morningside, Grand View, Northwestern, Doane, Missouri Valley, Briar Cliff, Midland and Dordt will all have teams in the men’s portion of the invite.
Game Time...The Dordt University men's soccer team will host Bethany Lutheran in the Defenders final non-conference match of the regular season. Saturday's match will start at 2:15pm.
Dordt is 0-5-2 this season, losing to Briar Cliff last time out (2-1). Bethany Lutheran has a 1-2 record heading into Saturday.
Game Time...The Dordt University women's soccer team will host College of Saint Mary this weekend, Sept. 18, at the Defenders Soccer Complex. Game time is set for noon.
The Defenders will be playing their first home match in 14 days and enter Saturday's tilt with an 0-1 GPAC record, 5-2 overall. College of Saint Mary is 0-1 in the conference, 3-2-1 overall.
Jacob Vander Plaats was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference / Hauff Mid-America Sports men's cross country runner of the week for the second time this season.
Vander Plaats won the GPAC Preview meet, held at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa, with an 8K time of 26:20. He posted the fastest time among NAIA runners for the second consecutive week.
The Dordt Defender women’s golf team will travel to Sioux City to golf in the Lila Frommelt Invite at Two Rivers Golf Club. The meet is hosted by Briar Cliff. The two-round event will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 17 and 18 with the teams starting play at 12:30 on Friday and 9:30 on Saturday.
