On November 21, the Dordt instrumental ensembles will present their final concert of the fall semester. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. They will perform music by Dvořák, Doppler, Maslanka, Mennin, and others. The Campus Band will open the concert with a variety of music to include the modern sounds of steel-making with John Mackey’s Foundry. The Chamber Orchestra will then perform the incredible Serenade for Strings by Antonin Dvořák, as well as featured guest soloist Jessi Rose on the Doppler Fantasy for Flute and String Orchestra. To close the evening, the Wind Symphony will treat the audience to the music of a variety of composers to include the intense sounds of the deeply emotional Give Us This Day, by David Maslanka.
This concert is not open to the public but will be livestreamed at the link below. Family members of the musicians will receive tickets for the live performance from their students. Masks are required for all family members attending and seating groups will be socially distanced. Dordt University continues to monitor how Covid-19 affects our campus and community.
