Concordia Twilight

Two members of the Dordt University men's track and field team qualified for nationals in the final regular season meet, the Concordia Twilight, prior to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships.

Peter Shippy and Thaniel Schroeder both qualified in the 3000m steeplechase, placing second and third, respectively. Shippy ran a personal best, shaving over 17 seconds off his previous best mark, and crossed the finish line in 9:22.4. The sophomore's time puts him ninth in the NAIA and is the third fastest all-time at Dordt. Schroeder also had a personal best time, 9:31.2, and met the provisional mark where he is ranked 16th in the NAIA.

A total of six Defenders finished among the top 10 in their respective event today.

  • Steeplechase:
    • Peter Shippy - 2nd: 9:22.4 (A)
      • 3rd fastest at Dordt
    • Thaniel Schroeder - 3rd: 9:31.2 (B)
      • 5th fastest at Dordt
