The Dordt University men's distance medley won the title at the Drake Relays to highlight the final day of competition for the Defenders.

The Defenders led nearly from start to finish in winning its second Drake Relays title in program history (2021 Men's 4x800). Dordt set both a school and Drake Relays record with a time of 10:07 and finished just over 20 seconds in front of the second place team, Luther. Trey Engen opened with the 1200m carry for the Defenders and took the lead after the first 400m. Engen extended his team's lead and gave the baton to Cole Zevenbergen, who continued to build on the lead with a 49.4 400m split. Payton Mauldin was up next with the 800m carry and by the time Joe Anderson had the baton for the 1600m, the Defenders lead was nearly 100m.
In the final event for the Defenders on the Blue Oval, the shuttle hurdle relay finished 10th overall with a time of 1:04.6. Team members include Kyle Baumert, Justin Groen, Joshua Van Hulzen and Peyton Miller.
Dordt will compete in the GPAC Outdoor Championships next weekend (Friday/Saturday) in Crete, Neb.
