Dordt University was defeated by Morningside 4-0 in a GPAC match played this afternoon in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Defenders drop to 1-5 in the conference, 2-9-2 overal; Morningside improves its record to 5-2 in the GPAC, 8-4 overall.
Dordt netted its goal early in the second frame, during the 53rd minute. It is unclear at this time who is credited with the goal (stats say 'team).
Morningside opened up 2-0 halftime lead, scoring a pair of goals late in the first half. Isaac Gould-Monseque netted the first during the 38th minute while teammate Noah Jorritsma tucked one in the back of the net at the 41-minute mark.
After Dordt made it a one goal game early in the second frame, the Mustangs scored twice during the final 30 minutes to put the match away. Victor Berker and Gero Zarbo were credited with the goals.
Brandon Hansen made seven saves in goal for the Defenders.
The Defenders will host No.21 Northwestern on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 8:15pm.
