HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt and Iowa State played in their second meeting of the early season, as Iowa State swept the weekend series with a 4-1 win Saturday evening.
The Cyclones scored first as Dylan Haar gave Iowa State a 1-0 lead with 5:51 remaining in the first period.
Jaren Brue opened up the second period with a goal for Dordt off of the pass from Eli Visscher to tie the game in the opening minute. Brue's goal was one of three in the second, as Iowa State added two goals from Liam Johnson and Jacob Bevirt later in the period.
The third period was scoreless until the Defenders traded an extra skater for the empty net, where Iowa State was able to score an empty net goal in the final seconds.
