Northwestern def. Dordt 4-0
Northwestern scored a run each in the fourth and seventh innings and added two in the ninth for a 4-0 win in game two of their doubleheader with Dordt on Friday in Sioux Center.
Dordt threatened in the first when the Defenders left two runners on base and Dordt left the bases loaded in the third inning.
Northwestern pushed a run across in the fourth inning but missed out on a bigger inning as Luke Turner worked out of a bases loaded jam.
The visitors scored another in the seventh on two hits and then tacked on two in the ninth inning.
Dordt had six hits and Northwestern seven.
Dordt committed four errors.
Jon Emerson had a double and two singles and Logan Cline had a single and was walked three times—twice intentionally.
Chase Edwards and Lucas Nelson both had singles.
Luke Turner took the loss and worked four and two-third innings with three walks and four strikeouts.
Diego Benitez pitched in relief and allowed three runs on five hits and struck out five.
The two teams will play again on Saturday at 1:00 in GPAC doubleheader action.
