The Dordt Defender track and field team sent a limited number of entrants to the Concordia Early Bird Invite on Saturday, December 5.  Even with a limited number of entrants the Defenders managed several top-five finishes and a couple automatic qualifying standards for the NAIA National Championship.

Jordan De Groot established a new meet record in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:32.66 while Mika Kooistra hit the automatic qualifying standard in the 600 meters with a time of 1:36.52.

Emma Bakker ran 57.42 in the 400 meters to win the event and claimed a meet record and she also met the automatic qualifying standard in the event.
