The Dordt Defender men’s track and field team totaled 137 points at the GPAC Track and Field Championships in Seward, Nebraska on Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1 and finished second in the team standings.

Dordt’s best finishes came in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays where the Defenders took victories.

Nic Veldhorst won the steeplechase title and Matthew Van Eps was an individual double winner with victories in the 1500 and the 800.

Dordt will take athletes to a meet hosted by USD on Friday, May 7 and the Defenders will run in the Concordia Twilight on May 14 in the final tune-up before the NAIA National Championship at Gulf Shores, Alabama May 26-28.

Doane won the team title with 235.5 points and Northwestern finished in third with 106.5 points in the 11 team field.
