HOW IT HAPPENED

In a competitive matchup, the Defender women earned their fourth win of the season. The game was scoreless until, 22 minutes in, Alaina Van Zalen entered into the scoring column and gave Dordt a 1-0 advantage. It was one of her four shot attempts in the game, and came alongside 7 first half shot attempts for the Defenders. Shots were evenly distributed in the first half, with 7 on both sides.

Midland held control of the ball for a majority of the second half, but Dordt's defense was able to maintain their early lead. With about 10 minutes remaining in regulation, the Warriors had a shot go off the crossbar, but were unable to even up the score, securing the victory for the Defenders.
