Dordt def. Dakota State 5-0


The Dordt Defender softball team beat Dakota State on Friday, March 13 to bring the Spring Break trip to an end.

The Defenders scored four in the second and one in the sixth for the 5-0 win.

Janae Wynja had a double that scored Hannah Sikkema and Ella Koster tripled in Addison Hansen and Wynja.  A Jessica Flaherty single with two outs scored Koster and made the score 4-0.

Dakota State had two runners on in the fifth and sixth innings but was unable to make the game closer and Dordt added an insurance run in the sixth inning when Flaherty was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.  That run was the last the Defenders scored in the 5-0 win.


Jessica Flaherty had a single and double with two runs batted in.

Ella Koster had a single and a triple with two runs batted in.

Dakota State outhit Dordt 8-7.

Abby Kraemer pitched four innings for the win with six hits and two walks scored.

Natalie Fopma had two hits with a base on balls.
