Dakota State def. Dordt 7-2
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt got two runs in the first inning but were quiet the rest of the way in losing 7-2 in game one of their doubleheader against Dakota State on Monday night in Tucson, Arizona.
The Defenders’ two runs came when Cam Pfafman singled in a run and later scored on a Luis Camacho single. A double play kept the Defenders from an even bigger inning.
Dakota State had four runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning and added another in the third and two more in the sixth inning.
Dordt had two runners on in the third inning but couldn’t capitalize.
Dakota State outhit Dordt 9-8 and was able to overcome three errors.
Alexander Chavez and Logan Cline both had two hits and Cline had a double for Dordt’s only extra base hit of the game.
Luke Drooger pitched five and a third innings and struck out six in absorbing the loss.
