Jamestown def. Dordt 8-0

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Jamestown Jimmies controlled its game with Dordt and took an 8-0 non-conference decision from the Defenders on Friday afternoon in Tucson, Arizona.

The Jimmies scored two in the third and one more each in the fourth and fifth innings for a 4-0 lead. The Jimmies also stranded five runners in the innings combined.  Dordt had a chance to cut into the lead when it loaded the bases but a fly ball out with two outs ended the threat. Jamestown proceeded to score four in the bottom of the sixth inning and the game ended with two outs and by virtue of the eight-run difference rule.

THE NUMBERS

Jamestown had a 12-1 hits advantage.

Dordt’s hit was a single by Brooklyn VanOort.

Natalie Fopma pitched four innings and struck out four with three runs allowed and six hits.

Abby Kraemer pitched an inning and two-thirds and allowed five runs with a walk and a strikeout.
