Concordia def. Dordt 74-56


The Concordia Bulldogs scored the first nine points of the game and Dordt played from behind the rest of the game and lost a 74-56 Great Plains Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center.

After the 9-0 start over the first two minutes of the game the Defenders battled to a 29-17 deficit at the end of the quarter.

A pair of Baylee Tetzlaff free throws cut the lead down to 31-25 with 5:41 left in the half but the visitors finished the half on a 15-3 run to lead 46-28.

The difference remained between 21 and 16 points the entire third quarter and the fourth quarter started with a 59-40 Concordia lead. Gabby Kreykes converted a three-point basket to start the fourth quarter and the lead was trimmed to 61-49 on a Karly Gustafson field goal with 7:33 left in the game.  Neither team scored for the next two minutes and when the drought ended Concordia pushed the lead to 18 and settled for that advantage.


Dordt was 17-56 from the field and 3-21 from the arc for 30 percent success from the field and 14 percent from the three point line.

The Bulldog defense forced 30 turnovers and had a 27-74 field goal shooting day for 37 percent.

Dordt had a 49-41 rebounding advantage and forced 17 turnovers.

Karly Gustafson led Dordt with 11 points and she had seven rebounds.

Erika Feenstra converted nine points and had seven rebounds.

Baylee Tetzlaff had seven points and six rebounds and Bailey Beckman, Mya Chmielewski and Jordyn Van Maanen all had six points.

Dordt is 12-6 in the GPAC and 20-6 overall while Concordia improves to 17-1 overall and 24-2 in the league.


Dordt will travel to Briar Cliff on Wednesday, February 12.
