HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt men's soccer team won it's second game of the season after shutting out Ottawa 1-0 on Saturday.
Luke Foster earned a penalty kick in the 11th minute and found the bottom corner to give Dordt the 1-0 lead.
Ottawa threatened several times throughout the rest of the first half, but Dordt goalkeeper Seth Lewison held strong to keep the shutout.
Ottawa came out in the second half with more pressure and flustered the Defenders over the first 15 minutes. Dordt was able to settle in over the rest of the half and secured the 1-0 victory.
Seth Lewison had five saves in the win.
Dordt was outshot 12-11 in the victory.
Ottawa had four corner kicks compared to Dordt's one.
Goalkeeper Isaac Gwinn had two saves in the game.
COACH GRESSE SAID
"It was an encouraging result today by the team. We set out to be disciplined and made it difficult for Ottawa to break us down. The game had its ebbs and flows, but we ultimately kept our composure. We look forward to beginning conference play next week."
Dordt will play Presentation on Wednesday at 3:15 in Aberdeen.
