Mount Marty def. Dordt 12-5


The Mount Marty Lancers defeated Dordt in non-conference baseball in Yankton on Wednesday, April 24.  The nine inning contest was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 but was moved due to rain earlier in the week.

The Lancers broke through for four in the second and another in the fourth for a 5-0 lead.  The Defenders came back with four in the top of the fifth inning on a hit, three walks, a balk and a wild pitch. 

Mount Marty got two more in the home half of the fifth and Dordt got one in the sixth with Steve Tiersma scoring on a wild pitch. Mount Marty got five more in the sixth and seventh combined to pull away from the 7-5 advantage.


Dordt’s Jadon Vander Molen pitched three and a third innings and allowed five runs on seven hits with a strikeout.

AJ Bosscher pitched two and two-third with a strikeout and six hits and Nate Psyck and Justin Bond each went an inning with Bond recording a scoreless frame.

Austin Pullar had a pair of singles and a walk. 

Dordt recorded eight walks.

All of Dordt’s hits were singles.


Dordt is 7-25 and Mount Marty is 24-16.


Dordt will travel to Concordia on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27.
